Music therapy in North London A safe, creative space to connect, express and grow through music.

Music can reach us where words sometimes can't. In music therapy we use singing, playing, listening and making music together to support emotional, social and communication needs. No musical experience needed.

Why music therapy?

How sessions work

I work in the Nordoff-Robbins approach, which rests on a simple belief: every one of us is musical, whatever our age, ability or circumstances. In music therapy, that musicality becomes a way to connect, communicate and grow.

Everyone is musical

You don't need to play an instrument or sing in tune. Whoever you are, you can respond to music and take part in making it. Sessions begin with whatever you bring: a sound, a rhythm, a movement, a mood.

Music made together

Rather than playing music to you, we create it together, improvising in the moment. I listen and answer musically to what you offer, so the music becomes a shared language and a way of being heard.

Companionship in music

Over time, music therapy can open new ways to communicate and express feelings, build confidence and relationships, and ease isolation. It supports children with additional needs, adults living with dementia or mental ill-health, and people facing life-limiting illness.

Hello, I'm Ruba

For more than twenty years, music has been my life's work: as a singer, songwriter and performer, and as a singing teacher. It has always been a companion to me, and a quietly healing force.
